Workroom and Basement
WORKROOM
- Set & Prop construction or painting area for Trinity Students
- Open floor space equal to the area of the stage, it can be used for Rehearsals
- Storage of set or properties during the day
Average ceiling height is 8’00". The room houses small set pieces, flats, and lumber stored along the walls and in racks.
Please note that the workroom is the ONLY location inside the theatre building which may be used for PAINTING or CONSTRUCTION of sets and properties. Power tools may not be used in the basement when the stage is in use as the sound will penetrate even if the doors are shut. Also, if you are storing properties or set items, don’t forget to pick them up after your performance!
BASEMENT CROSSOVER
The corridor in the basement can be used by performers to travel from one side of the theatre to the other without crossing the stage or leaving the building.
ALTERNATE (ONSTAGE) CROSSOVER
Sometimes performers don't have time to run downstairs and through the basement in order to cross the stage. In this case, you might want to consider closing the black curtains so that the curtains provide and Upstage Crossover. Because the crossover takes place on the stage, it is quicker. However, it does limit your stage depth by three feet and prevents you from being able to use the cyclorama wall for special effects.
