Information + Technology Services at Trinity College

Residence Network and getting help

All student rooms are wired for students that wish to connect to the residence network with their own computers. Activation procedures, regulations and general information are provided in hardcopy in the move-in packages issued to residents when they arrive. For more information, please read the ResNet Essentials, Resnet Information kit, and ResNet Assistance Request Form documents. If you have already read all the information but still have questions, please follow the instructions on the ResNet Assisytance Request Form for how to report your problem.

Computer Room at St. Hildas

The St. Hilda's Colputer Room (#134, next to the Portress' office) provides students with 4 workstations for internet access, word-processing, and access to University of Toronto networks including the University of Toronto's online catalogue and information system. You log onto the lab workstations using a generic account posted in the lab.

UTORcwn wireless networks at Trinity College

The University of Toronto Campus Wireless Network (UTORcwn) provides three SSID's in your list of available wi-fi networks: "UTORwin", "UofT" and "eduroam". The "UTORwin"and "UofT" networks require a UTORid for access. UTORid's are provided in advance during enrollment application procedures, however new UTORid's are only activated when you receive your T-Card and activation key at the T-Card office at Robart's Library (room 2054A).

"eduroam" is intended for UT students who are planning to attend other universities or for temporary visiting students from other universities.  See wireless.utoronto.ca for details on these wirless networks. ALL support for the wireless networks is provided by Robart's Library Info Commons Helpdesk and Helpline (416 -978-HELP). Trinity College IT staff do not assist students with wireless issues.

Email accounts at Trinity College

Trinity email accounts, of the form username@trinity.utoronto.ca, are no longer issued to Trinity students. University of Toronto students, including Trinity College students, are required to obtain and monitor UTORmail accounts. Obtain your UTORmail account at www.utoronto.ca/ns/utormail. U of T Policies on the use of information and communication technology apply.

Any existing Trinity email account remains active so long as you do not leave your account dormant for longer that 12 consecutive months. Such accounts are accessible from any online computer on the web (such as from one of the libraries or from your own residence room) via www.trinity.utoronto.ca/email.
