Frequently Asked Questions

- How do I get an internet connection?
- All residence rooms have a Resnet jack with high-speed internet access. Instructions can be found here. The Graham Library and the Larkin Building, including the Buttery (our cafeteria) have wireless internet capability for students who have activated their University of Toronto e-mail address.
- Is the College equipped with services for persons with disabilities?
- The St. Hilda's residence, the academic building, the new Library, the Ignatieff Theatre, the Chapel, and the ground floor of the main building (where the administrative offices are located) are all wheelchair accessible.
- I would like to get a single room. What are my chances?
- Your chances are approximately 50:50 in first year.
- My best-friend from high school is coming to Trinity as well. Is it possible for us to room together?
- Please indicate on your residence application form whether there is anyone in particular you would like to room with or live near. We will do our best to accommodate your request.
- I would like to bring my computer with me. Is this okay?
- Certainly. Most of our students have their own computer and find it very useful to own one.
- I get hungry a lot. May I bring a fridge and kettle with me?
- Yes. Many of our students prefer to rent or purchase small bar fridges for late night snacks. Please ensure that your kettle has the automatic shut-off option.
- Is it possible for me to visit the College before I arrive in September?
- Yes. Please contact the Office of the Dean of Students. We are happy to arrange a tour for you. Please allow us at least three business days notice.
- Can I smoke in residence?
- Trinity College residences are strictly non-smoking buildings. This is for both health and safety reasons.
