Awards to Faculty
Thomas Hurka, Dept. of Philosophy, Fellow of Trinity College, received one of the eight 2011 Killam Research Fellowships which is awarded to full professors at Canadian universities and research institutes.
Mark Kingwell, Dept. of Philosophy, Fellow of Trinity College, is one of the five recipients of the 2010-11 President's Teaching Award. The Award recognizes sustained excellence in teaching, research on teaching, and the integration of teaching and research. Recipients of a President's Teaching Award are designated as a member of the Teaching Academy for a five-year period and for five receive an annual professional development allowance.
Nick Mount, Dept. of English, Associate of Trinity College, was selected as one of 3M’s National Teaching Fellows for 2011, which is given in conjunction with the Society of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education.
Ted Shepherd, Dept. of Physics, Fellow of Trinity College, was elected a fellow of the American Geophysical Union for his outstanding contributions to geophysical fluid dynamics and middle-atmosphere research.
