Financial Aid & Scholarships

Trinity offers financial aid and information on external sources of funding to its students. Most students are eligible for need-based bursaries.  Four fellowships are awarded annually to top students in the Advanced Degree programmes, usually ranging from $2000 to $7000. A number of teaching assistantships are awarded to qualified doctoral students. Application information for these funding sources may be received from the Faculty of Divinity Office. The Toronto School of Theology also offers a number of awards annually to basic and advanced degree students.

In addition to internal funding sources, students may also apply for outside support. Canadian Advanced Degree students are encouraged to apply for annual competitive fellowships: The Ontario Graduate Scholarship and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada Fellowship.

Trinity students are eligible for a variety of low-interest student loans. Canadian students may apply for the Ontario Student Assistantship Program and U.S. citizens may apply for Federal Stafford Loans through the University of Toronto's Admissions & Awards Office.
