Curious About the Quad?
Trinity’s quadrangle will get a major facelift thanks to a donor who has come forward with a sizeable contribution earmarked for the renewal of the central space at the heart of the College.
The Provost’s Quadrangle Committee, which has been meeting since last fall, is seeking the advice and opinions of all those who have a stake in the College and are users of the quadrangle. Interested members of the Trinity community are invited to a town hall meeting on Thursday, March 2, at 7 p.m. in the Rigby Room of St. Hilda’s College.
The committee will develop a set of general principles and terms of reference, which will then be forwarded to select landscape architectural firms who have expressed interest in participating in a limited design competition. Work will begin later this year, and, if all goes according to plan, be completed by summer 2007.
The results of this historic rehabilitation will have a lasting impact on the life of the Trinity community for years to come. The project also offers students, alumni and faculty a unique opportunity to make a significant and enduring contribution to the College, as the lead donor has agreed to match whatever additional funds are raised.
