ALL HAIL THE BOOK SALE!
The 31st annual Trinity College book sale, organized and operated completely by Friends of the Library volunteers, raised $135,000 to support the College's John W. Graham Library.

Held last October 20 to 24, the sale involved a massive, year-long volunteer effort that saw 2,500 boxes of books sorted, packed and transported upstairs to Seeley Hall (a strength-testing exercise for students hired for the task, who line the main staircase of Trinity and pass the boxes of books hand to hand in a chain).

Trinity's book sale, described as "one of the best in the city," by CBC Metro Morning host Andy Barrie, has become a favourite with book dealers who arrive hours in advance of the Friday night opening, hoping to be the first to zero in on bargains and have first pick of the extensive rare books on offer.

Volunteers are already preparing for this October's sale. For information about joining The Friends of the Library, helping with the annual book sale, or having donations of used books picked up for the sale, please telephone the Friends at 416-978-6750 and leave a message.
