Geneva-bound
The Rev. John Beach, who has been Humphrys Chaplain at Trinity College since 2001, will be setting his watch soon to depart for Switzerland, where he will take up duties as rector of Emmanuel Church in Geneva. Established 125 years ago, Emmanuel serves, among others, the U.N., the international Red Cross and various non-governmental agencies. Rev. Beach officiated at some 15 services a week in Trinity College Chapel, including Wednesday choral evensong. He described his campus ministry as ?an intentional Christian presence in the midst of a secular and multicultural institution.?

Pastor Herbert Harms, who has been chaplain at the University of Toronto since 2002 in the Lutheran campus ministry, will be part-time interim chaplain at Trinity until April 30. Meanwhile, a search committee headed by Provost Margaret MacMillan is receiving applications to fill the position of permanent chaplain.
