Mark Kingwell (Ethics Stream)
Philosopher Mark Kingwell alternates his publications in scholarly journals with award-winning observations on politics and culture in such periodicals as Adbusters, Harper's and the New York Times. Since the mid-1990s he has published a number of books, including Better Living (1998), The World We Want (2000) and Practical Judgments (2001). His most recent publications were a book about the Empire State Building, Nearest Thing to Heaven (2006), and a number of essays on contemporary art.
Robert Bothwell (International Relations Stream)
Robert Bothwell is one of Canada's leading historians. He has taught at the University of Toronto since 1970 and has written a variety of books, including Lester Pearson, His Life and World (1978), Canada and the United States (1992), Canada and Quebec (1995), The Big Chill: Canada and the Cold War (1998), and The Penguin History of Canada (2006). His next book, Alliance and Illusion: Canadian Foreign Relations, 1945-1984, will appear in the spring of 2007.
