New Accessibility Lift to the Junior Common Room

Posted Feb 21, 2017 1:34 pm

A new accessibility lift to the Junior Common Room (JCR) is now in service. Located outside of Strachan Hall, the new JCR Lift (stair platform lift) is positioned beside the Vertical C Lift, which provides accessible access from the main floor of Trinity College to Strachan Hall.

The JCR Lift is co-funded by the Student Capital Fund and Trinity College. Reunion classes are also focusing their Reunion Giving 2017 to support the JCR Lift and accessibility at Trinity, including the Class of 1967 who are celebrating their 50th reunion this year.

If you need assistance or a key to operate the JCR Lift (stair platform), please contact the Porters Lodge (416-978-2522 ext. 2011).

In addition, a new elevator is currently under construction at the west end of the main building. Located beside the Chapel doors, the new elevator will provide accessible access to the three floors of the building, including the new Trinity College Archives (under construction) (lower level) and Seeley Hall (upper level).

Installation of the new Junior Common Room accessibility lift (JCR Lift): December 2016 to February 17, 2017
