1953

Dear Members of Trinity 5T3,

This is a very special year! 2013 marks the 60th anniversary of our graduation from Trinity College – a cause for celebration on the weekend of May 31, June 1 and 2, 2013.

We will be hosting a luncheon for our year on the Friday, May 31st at Trinity in the Combination Room behind Strachan Hall.

Saturday will be a fun-filled day with University and Trinity events:  St. Hilda’s College Alumnae Luncheon, Afternoon Tea with the Provost, Evensong in the Trinity Chapel, followed by the magnificent Garden (supper) Party which is held in the Trinity Quadrangle and Strachan Hall.  The Garden Party is for all years.  There will be lots of food and drink and it is a wonderful time to see friends from other years.

A word about accommodation.  Members of 5T3 and companions can stay at St. Hilda’s or Trinity for a modest sum.

We are excited to be supporting a reunion project at Trinity in celebration of our 60th anniversary.  In consultation with the college we have elected to help with the Strachan Hall Restoration Project.  The Strachan Hall project is Trinity’s most ambitious initiative in recent years, and involves the restoration of Strachan Hall and a complete renovation of the kitchen and servery at a cost of over $4 million. The students have committed $300,000 of their own funds, which is an extraordinary affirmation of the importance of Strachan Hall to Trinity students. We would like to suggest that our class pull together to raise $5,000 for a 5T3 table in Strachan Hall. Our table will be inscribed as a gift from the “Class of 5T3”. This will be a lasting record of our time at the College and will help to fund the restoration of the Hall. We will be able to see the results of the restoration during Reunion.

Back to OUR EVENT! The Friday lunch.  Come and reconnect with old friends and relive some of the fun times we had together.  And if you wonder about access, we have great news! The Combination Room has a direct line from the parking lot, so we can walk, totter or roll to the lunch with ease! We are anticipating a good turnout and your presence will help us make it a big success.

Your Organizing Committee,

Mary Louise (Edmonds) Clements, Sheila (Horan) Connell
