Dear 7T3ers,

So here’s a scary thought:  we (well, most of us*) graduated 40 years ago, and I’ve been Bursar for more than half of that time.  And the College isn’t bankrupt yet.  I think that calls for a drink:

FRIDAY, MAY 31, AFTER WORK (from 5:00 pm) IN THE JUNIOR COMMON ROOM

Cash bar.   Be there.

REUNION WEEKEND   MAY 31 - JUNE 1, 2013

The attached schedule lists the full roster of activities for the weekend.   Saturday is the big Garden Party for all honoured years (ending in 3 or 8).  Should be a fun crowd – great food, good company.   Hang out in the Quad; see the restored Strachan Hall!

THE 7T3 FUND

Speaking of which, the Strachan Hall project completed last fall was the most ambitious in recent memory:  $4.5 million.  The Hall itself was restored from floor to peak, but not altered architecturally.  Its classic grandeur now looks fresh and clean (sorry Chip, we had to remove the chocolate éclair from the hammer beam).  And the kitchen was completely gutted and rebuilt.  Current students – bless them – contributed $300,000 to the project from a self-imposed capital levy.  This year’s reunion classes are supporting the project and we need to do the same.   I’ve committed $1,000.   Can you match this?   Gift form attached or go to click here to give online.

At the end of the day, what you are really supporting is the student experience.   Having witnessed over 20 years of students arriving nervous and bewildered, making new friends, pursuing new intellectual interests, throwing themselves into extra-curricular activities and graduating as mature adults, I still firmly believe that Trinity offers one of the best undergraduate experiences in the country.  Let’s keep it that way.

See you on Friday May 31!
