1978 Reunion Events
Dear Member of 7T8:
It’s that time of year again! Believe it or not thirty-five years have passed since graduation and five years since our last Trinity reunion get together.
The enclosed material from the College details the Reunion events organized by Trinity. The University also has a number of events planned which can be seen at springreunion.utoronto.ca. It is our hope that you will reserve the dates Friday May 31, Saturday June 1 and Sunday June 2, 2013 in your calendars for Reunion activities. It would be wonderful to have a good turnout for this special reunion.
In addition to the formal Trinity and University events, your reunion organizers are throwing a Friday night year party (drinks and "heavy" hors d'oeuvres) on May 31st, 2013 at the home of Mary (Lesslie) Hallward. The theme is 'Margaritaville' so wear your favourite Hawaiian shirt….Jimmy Buffet will be present on the piano…or, perhaps more likely, a Jimmy Buffet impersonator. Mary's address will be sent with your confimation when you book your tickets. The fun starts at 6:30 and will wind up at 10:00pm. Spouses and partners are most welcome to attend. Please RSVP to Mary at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
On Saturday, Paul and friends are organizing a golf event. Please contact Paul at: email@example.com if you would like to play golf on Saturday.
As well, and for ‘old times’ sake’, we welcome you to join us for a drink at ‘The Roof” after the Grand Reception and Garden Party on Saturday evening. We don't have any formal events planned for Sunday but anticipate that several of us will make informal arrangements for Brunch.
Some of you may recall that at the time of our 25th Reunion we established a bursary fund for a student entering second year who requires financial assistance, who has contributed in a meaningful way to College life and who has a solid academic record. Our fundraising efforts in previous years have been very successful. The 7T8 Bursary fund currently has a balance of $34,766.99. The bursaries awarded to students from the 7T8 fund have ranged from $1,000.00 to $1,500.00 each year. We hope you will consider making a contribution to this fund in honour of our thirty-fifth reunion. The size of the donation is up to each one of us and your participation at any level is welcomed and appreciated.
We hope you will contact your 7T8 friends and encourage them to attend the 2013 Reunion activities. It will be an opportunity for all of us to reconnect and renew acquaintances.
