Twenty years ago, Czechoslovakia split apart, Eritrea became a country, Bill Clinton became president, Brian Mulroney resigned as prime minister and Jean Chretien was elected, ETFs were invented, the Montreal Canadians won the Stanley Cup, Yasser Arafat and Yitzhak Rabin shook hands in Washington D.C., NAFTA was signed, the World Trade Centre was bombed, Boris Yeltsin stood on a tank to stare down a Russian coup, the Buffalo Bills lost the Super Bowl again, Windows NT 3.1 was released, the public was allowed into Buckingham Palace for the first time, Russia withdrew its troops from Poland and Lithuania, the Maastricht Treaty established the European Union, Israel and the Vatican established diplomatic relations and, most importantly,
Reunion spans the weekend of Friday, May 31st to Sunday, June 2nd and there will be lots going on in and around the College. However, the highlight will likely be the 9T3 gathering at the Harbord House (150 Harbord St. - owned by none other than John Oakes, 8T9) on Saturday, June 1st from 8:30 pm (after the Garden Party at Trinity).
Please click here to register so know if you are coming so that we can reserve the right number of places. Spouses and significant others are most welcome at all events. As well, please have a look at the program included in this package regarding the other interesting College events going on that weekend (like Tanya Heath-Brimont’s talk at the St. Hilda’s lunch on Saturday!)
In recognition of this year’s Reunion a number of the Honoured Years have decided that they would like to contribute something to the College. Given the recent renovation to Strachan Hall, 9T3 was asked to consider making a donation towards a Strachan Hall table that will sport a plaque in commemoration of 9T3. In order to obtain this naming honour, we need to raise $5,000, so please consider making a contribution.
We look forward to seeing you on June 1st and at the other events over the weekend.
