Exceptional Volunteers from the Trinity Community Receive 2017 Arbor Awards

Established in 1989, The Arbor Award is a U of T-wide honour designed to recognize alumni volunteers, as well as friends of the university who have generously committed their time to improve the experience of students, faculty, alumni and staff.

This September, seven exceptional members of the Trinity community received Arbor Awards. Congratulations to our newest award recipients: Mary K. Goodwin ’58, Elisabeth Anne Jocz UC ’62, Jennifer Kraus ’03, Dale McInnes Keel ’05, Gerald Noble ’81, Michael Royce ’68, Gigi Shui ’01.

Mary K. Goodwin: For many years, Mary has supported the annual Trinity Book Sale, raising substantial funds for the College. She is also a longtime member of both the Trinity College Art and Archives Committees. (photo right)

Elisabeth Anne Jocz: Elisabeth Anne worked at the Thomas Fisher Rare Book Library where she gained experience in dealing with rare and collectible items. She now helps to price books for the Trinity College Friends of the Library annual book sale.

Jennifer Kraus: Jennifer has been a generous mentor to students in the Criminology & Sociolegal Studies Program at Woodsworth College. She is a frequent speaker at Career Mentorship Luncheons and Backpack to Briefcase events.

Dale McInnes Keel: Dale has been a volunteer with the Trinity College Friends of the Library for 35 years. She works year-round, selecting, pricing and repairing rare and collectible books for the annual book sale.

Gerald R. Noble: Gerry provides valuable guidance to Trinity College as the longtime chair of its finance committee, and as a member of the college’s Board of Trustees and Investment Committee. (photo below)

Michael Royce: As a member of the Trinity College Board of Trustees, Michael is an advocate for the college in addition to his support of the Mental Health Program and the Anne Steacy Counseling Initiative for students.

Gigi Shui: Gigi is a core committee member of the U of T Alumni Association Hong Kong. In addition to planning events for the association, she has been a key volunteer at the Asia-Pacific Graduation Ceremonies.

Since 1989, more than 2,300 alumni and friends have received Arbor Awards for their tremendous generosity and contribution to U of T. This year’s recipients have been added to the ever-growing Arbor Awards wall on campus.
