Accreditation & Quality Assurance

Universities Canada: Trinity College is a member institution of Universities Canada (formerly the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada), as is the University of Toronto, with which Trinity is federated.

Association of Theological Schools: Trinity College’s Faculty of Divinity is accredited by the Commission on Accrediting of the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada.

The Faculty of Divinity at Trinity College is currently undergoing a self-study review as part of the re-accreditation process with ATS. This review is required every ten years, and will include a site visit by a team of assessors on October 17-20, 2022.

Master of Divinity (data collected between 2018 and 2022)

  • Average time to graduation 4.20 years
  • Ratio of admissions/applications in 2019: 81%
  • Percentage of Acceptances Enrolled in 2019: 89%
  • In 2019 the positive placement rate for the MDiv was 83%
  • Between 2018 and 2022:
    • 97% of graduates indicated that they felt their intellectual and spiritual life and/or ministry would be enriched by their M.Div. studies;
    • 88% graduates indicated that if given the choice, they would choose the M.Div at Trinity again;
    • 91% of graduates would recommend Trinity M.Div. program to others interested in formal theological study leading to ordination/professional ministry.

Master of Theological Studies (data collected between 2018 and 2022)

  • Average time to completion 3.50 years
  • Ratio of admissions/applications in 2019: 100%
  • Percentage of Acceptances Enrolled in 2019: 78%
  • Between 2018 and 2022:
    • 97% of graduates indicated that they felt their intellectual and spiritual life and/or ministry would be enriched by their MTS studies;
    • 94% graduates indicated that if given the choice, they would choose the MTS at Trinity again;
    • 96.6% of graduates would recommend Trinity MTS program to others interested in general theological
      education.
