Photography & Filming


The health, safety and well-being of our community members is a top priority. We continue to work closely with the University of Toronto to monitor the development of the COVID-19 pandemic and to follow the advice and directives of government and public health authorities to slow the rate of transmission of COVID-19 in our community.    Like the University of Toronto, all Trinity College buildings will continue to remain closed to members of the public and visitors. Only members of the university community who require access to Trinity buildings for instructional and work purposes can enter our Campus.  With that in mind we remain closed for photography permits, in-person external events and conference services until further notice.   The status of our facilities may change as public health guidance is revised, for further information and updates please see  Trinity’s COVID-19 Updates .

As a federated college of the University of Toronto, Trinity College Photography Permits are required for all photography taken at Trinity College, including weddings and engagements.

The permit allows photography for outdoor locations only (grounds only, not within the buildings) on the Trinity College campus. Interior shots are prohibited, except in the Chapel or other room you have booked for your wedding or special event.  Please be aware that others may be around during your photo shoot. Should the permit be approved, it does not guarantee exclusive access to the areas. Trinity Security staff will request proof of permission (Photography Permit) from photographers. No photography is allowed without a valid permit.

If you are holding your wedding or commitment ceremony at Trinity, you will receive a Photography Permit for the day of your event, either one hour before or one hour after the ceremony. There is no additional cost for this Photography Permit.

Trinity College reserves the right to cancel a photo booking if it conflicts with an organized Trinity/University event. Reasonable notice will be given to the involved parties. In such cases, if no satisfactory alternative time, site or date can be arranged, location fees will be returned.

We do not issue photo permits more than two months in advance. Please revisit this form two months before your proposed date to submit a request.

The cost is $150.00/hour plus HST. Trinity College Staff and Alumni may be eligible to receive a 50% discount on the price of the permit.  Payment may be made by credit card at the Trinity College Event Service & Catering Office.


For other photography and videography/filming requests on the Trinity College campus, including for commercial and business use, a location agreement will be required. Please contact us for further information.
