Dear Members of the Trinity College Community:
The Trinity College Matriculation Convocation 2022 will take place on Wednesday, September 7 at 7:30 pm in the MacMillan Theatre, Faculty of Music.
At Matriculation Convocation, the College will formally admit and welcome our incoming students (first-year Faculty of Arts & Science and incoming Faculty of Divinity students) to the College. Students will be invited to sign the Trinity College register.
The College will also confer the degree of Doctor of Sacred Letters (honoris causa) upon Joannah Lawson and Brian Lawson in recognition of their outstanding volunteerism and their exemplary leadership on the critically important issues of our day. They are passionate champions of the interconnected issues of human health and environmental sustainability. In addition to creating the Lawson Centre for Child Nutrition at the Faculty of Medicine, their visionary support led to the launch of Trinity College’s innovative Integrated Sustainability Initiative, which incorporates sustainability into academic programs and co-curricular activities and supports the College’s exceptional new building that will be called the Lawson Centre for Sustainability in recognition of their inspirational leadership.
Joannah and Brian Lawson will be presented by Assistant Provost Dr. Jonathan Steels and hooded by Professor Nicole Spiegelaar. They will jointly deliver the Convocation address.
Following the ceremony, a reception will be held in the Trinity Quad. All members of the Trinity community are welcome to attend the ceremony and reception.
