Congratulations to Trinity alumnus the Venerable Paul Feheley – awarded the Cross of St. Augustine for outstanding contribution to the Anglican Communion worldwide.
Among honorees for the Lambeth Awards 2024, Archdeacon Feheley received the Cross of St. Augustine “for his outstanding and effective love, knowledge, wisdom, and dedication to communicating the Gospel in the Anglican Church worldwide.”
In its citation, Lambeth Palace said: “Archdeacon Feheley has given outstanding service to the Anglican Communion as a Canadian pioneer of Church communications. He has been a valued communications staff member to all of the instruments of Communion over 15 years and has worked consistently as a bridge-builder during times of significant stress in the Anglican Communion through his faithful, humble, prayerful ministry as a disciple of Jesus Christ.”
“I am delighted that Paul has received this acknowledgment of his contributions to the Anglican Communion. I have seen first-hand his efforts being appreciated by a wide range of international church leaders,” said The Rev. Dr. Christopher Brittain, Dean of Divinity and Margaret E. Fleck Chair in Anglican Studies, Trinity College. “It is important that the significance of his achievements be recognized, particularly when so much of his skillful work was done through quiet diplomacy and with deep humility.”
The Ven. Feheley is the incumbent of St. Michael and All Angels (Diocese of Toronto). From 2004 to 2020, Archdeacon Feheley served as Principal Secretary in the Office of General Synod. At Trinity College, the Venerable Paul Feheley received an honorary degree of Doctor of Divinity in 2017 (photo above) and graduated with a Master of Divinity (Honours) degree in 1978.
