Message from Trinity College Wellness Team and Office of the Dean of Students

Dear Trinity College students:

Congratulations! You have almost made it through the semester and are well on your way to being done the fall term. On behalf of the Office of the Dean of Students, the Wellness and Student Life Programming Assistants, the Mental Health Peer Advisors and the Don and Community Advisor teams, we want to wish you the best of luck during the end of the semester and the exam period.

To promote student success, balance, and well-being during this busy time, we encourage you to participate in some of the fun, relaxing and free STRESSBUSTERS being organized this December. We would also like to remind you to draw on the many academic and wellness supports available to you during these last few weeks of the term.

Fall 2022 Stressbuster Schedule: December

We will be running many fun events this year! Below is a list of some upcoming events. Information on upcoming events can be found on the Trinity Events Portal, Trinity Life Quercus, @ForTrinStudents @TrinEats social media accounts, as well as in frequent Wellness Team emails. Some events require sign-up, so we encourage all students to check the Trinity Events Portal.

Student Services Candy Event

On behalf of the Trinity College Student Services team congrats on your hard work thus far this semester! Come pick-up some free candy or snacks and celebrate with us.

  • Where: Trinity proper, by the west doors near the chapel
  • What: Come pick-up some free candy and/or savoury snacks!
  • When: Thursday December 1st from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm
  • Who: All Trinity College students are welcome!

Trinity Community Skate

Trinity One and Trinity Wellness would like to cordially invite you to a community skate on December 6th. This is an awesome opportunity for students, faculty and staff to get to know each other and relax before the winter break. Even if you do not skate, you are welcome to drop by and say hello. Details of the event can be found below as well as on the attached invitation. No RSVP required!

  • When: Tuesday December 6th from 12:00 – 2:00 pm
  • Where: Varsity Arena
  • What do I need to bring: Bring skates and a helmet to participate in the fun! If you don’t have your own skates or helmet, free rentals will be provided.
  • Will there be snacks: We hope to have hot cocoa and drinks available for participants.

10 Minute Massages

Sign-up for a relaxing, free 10 minute massage!

  • When: December 13, 14 and 15 from 11:00 – 4:30 pm each day
  • Where: St. Hilda’s Residence (44 Devonshire Place) – in the Abbott Room
  • How to sign-up: Sign-up for your 10-minute massage online – registration link will be sent to all students on December 8th
  • What you can expect: The techniques are applied through clothing and will take place in a specially-designed chair. The massage can focus on back, neck, shoulders, head, arms and hands.

Strachan Study Hall

Please join the Dons and Community Advisors as they host three weeks of STRACHAN STUDY HALL!

  • Where: Strachan Dining Hall, Trinity College
  • What: Quiet communal study as the semester winds down and studying ramps up!
  • When: 10:00pm – 2:00 am, Saturday November 26th – Monday December 19th
  • Who: All Trinity College students (resident and non-resident) are welcome!
  • How: Strachan Hall will be open for students to study in.

 

The Wellness Team

We have three staff – Ramata, Rae and Missy – available to connect and help students with their mental health, wellness and overall wellbeing. Students can book an appointment for any issue – big or small, academic or non-academic! Registrar’s Office

The advisors in the Registrar’s Office can help you manage your current courses, plan for the winter term, and apply to or make changes to your programs of study. Registrar’s Office advisors can also help connect you with other support services on campus, including our on-site Learning Strategists and Health & Wellness Counsellors. You can book an appointment by e-mailing trinity.registrar@utoronto.ca or by coming to the Student Services Centre front desk.

The Academic Dons

Trinity’s Academic Dons are a great resource available for one-on-one academic counselling and tutoring for all Trinity College students. If you need help with your coursework, please feel free to reach out!
