Master of Divinity (Honours)

The Master of Divinity (MDiv) degree with honours is especially recommended for students who think of pursuing advanced degree study. If you are considering an honours degree, talk with your faculty advisor as soon as possible. Please view the Master of Divinity page for program requirements and information.

To obtain honours a student must:

  1. have six courses in a single Toronto School of Theology department exclusive of any credits granted for thesis preparation;
  2. have a B+ average in their final 20 credits; and
  3. write a thesis, directed by a professor in that department (not necessarily at Trinity). The thesis must be written in the final year, show independent thinking, and receive at least an A- grade.

Students planning advanced degree study should include an ancient language in their program and note the further requirements of the department under consideration.
