Special Gryphon Trio Performance

Poster for Gryphon Trio performance on November 15, 2022
Trinity College presents the Gryphon Trio: Tuesday, November 15 from 7 pm to 8:30 pm in the Provost’s Lodge.

With focus on student performances and a coffee house format, Provost Mayo Moran invites you to Seeley Hall to a casual evening of music performance and appreciation, featuring Trinity’s Artists-in-Residence, the Gryphon Trio.

These musical evenings are intended to be a light-weight study break – and an opportunity for students to engage music as both audience member and performer (performing is optional!). The first portion of the evening is reserved for students who wish to showcase their talents: vocal or instrumental (piano available, all others must be provided), in any style – all genres welcome! Details below.

The latter half of the program is performances by the Gryphon Trio, a world-renowned chamber music ensemble – featuring violinist Annalee Patipatanakoon, cellist Roman Borys and pianist James Parker – and their special guest Radia (Ryan Davis).

The Gryphon Trio are known for their highly dynamic performances with a repertoire that ranges from traditional to contemporary. Radia, the moniker for Saskatchewan-raised violist Ryan Davis, is swiftly emerging as a singular creative force. A composer-performer combining his rigorous classical training with the inspiration of folk, electronic, and hip-hop music, he finds himself seamlessly blending in between creative spaces. His unique sound has garnered attention and has been featured in diverse spaces, including in Toronto’s Koerner Hall, The Violin Channel, in Los Angeles’s Skid Row, and on ABC Channel 7 News LA. Of Glow & Abandon, his debut EP, was released on all major platforms on December 18, 2021.

Please note this event is open to Trinity Alumni, Students, Faculty, Staff and community members. The event is free but you must register to attend.

We look forward to seeing you in Seeley Hall!

Note, the event location was moved to Seeley Hall (from the Provost’s Lodge).
