TWYCE: Trinity Wycliffe Church Express

TWYCE works by submitting a citation to the ascribed address (infoexpress.grahamlibrary@utoronto.ca) and within 3 business days, you will have your requested item delivered right to your inbox. Citation information can be retrieved from the University of Toronto Library catalogue, but you must make the request through the email address. If you cannot find the citation information for the item you are looking for, there is still help available! We will put you in touch with our Instruction and Theological Reference Librarian, Rebekah Bedard, to help narrow your search, and then TWYCE will fulfill your request based on the results!

The main contact is Adrienne Findley-Jones. She is our Graham InfoExpress coordinator, as well as our course readings and interlibrary loan technician. Adrienne will be your contact for any requests and she will follow up with you on the progress of your request. Adrienne will be assisted by student staff at the Graham Library. All of the staff at the Graham Library play a role in ensuring that articles and book sections are available and accessible on a timely basis.

All TST alumni in ordained or commissioned ministry from Trinity Divinity and Wycliffe College are eligible to use the service. You must have either an active research borrower’s card issued by Robarts Library, or a free non-conjoint Graham Library card. Auditors are not eligible to use this service. You must register for the service at infoexpress.grahamlibrary@utoronto.ca.

Registration is open all year. Information required for registration:

• proof of ordination or commissioned ministry*,
• college,
• library ID number (research borrower’s card, Graham issued card), and
• preferred email address.

A Graham issued card will be created at registration if you do not have one: we will need your current mailing address, phone number, and email address to complete the card registration.

*Proof of ordination or commissioned ministry: photo of Bishop’s license or ordination certification, CASC certificate, letter of certification, pastoral progression notice from diocesan newsletter, etc.

Please send TWYCE requests to infoexpress.grahamlibrary@utoronto.ca. Include as much citation information as possible to allow us to quickly identify the articles you require. The University of Toronto Library catalogue is available for you to use, so please locate the item you wish to retrieve from there. Send us the information, and we do our best to get it for you. If you don’t know what it is you are looking for, we will forward your request to our Instructional and Theological Reference Librarian, Rebekah Bedard, for assistance. She will contact you to assist in your citation search. Once your request is in a citation format, Rebekah will give it to Adrienne to fulfill.

The scanning service is free and unlimited. Though rare, your request may involve a small cost to process from the lending library; if so, that cost will be passed onto you and payment will be needed before the article is sent to you.

We try to deliver all requests within 3 business days, but most of the requests can be fulfilled in less than 24 hours. Requests will be delivered electronically to your preferred email address. We do not put a limit on the number of requests you can make in one email. We will deliver them as we receive them or in the order they are fulfilled. All requests will be sent in the form of an optical character recognition (OCR) PDF so you can copy and paste directly from the PDF or you can print it for your own records and private study. If your request exceeds copyright limitations, we will work with you to make sure you get the most of what you are allowed.

The short answer: 10% or 1 chapter, whichever is greater. In the case of a journal, you may request one article. If a copyrighted material is, say, 100 pages, you would be allowed up to 10 pages; but, if the chapter you are requesting is 15 pages, you would be allowed the chapter because 15 is greater than 10. If 3 chapters are covered in the 10 pages, you would be allowed 3 chapters because in that case, it falls within the copyright guidelines. For journals, you would be allowed 1 article per issue. This applies even to special issues. If there was a commemorative issue consisting of a number of articles that interest you, you would have to choose the article you would be most interested in reading. We will navigate the copyright compliance needs so you don’t have to!

TWYCE is for your vocational research needs. Whether it be preparing a sermon or for a liturgy or for a Bible study, TWYCE is here to assist you by providing you the necessary material you need to complete your writing. It cannot be used for course readings. Auditors are not eligible to use this service.

If you are currently a student at Trinity Divinity or at Wycliffe, you are eligible to use the Graham Journal Service. If you are currently an instructor/faculty at Trinity Divinity or at Wycliffe, you are eligible for the full InfoExpress Service. We will circulate books and provide interlibrary loaned material to you, and we will deliver to and pick them up from your office!

Absolutely! If the material you are looking for is not available at any of the 44 campus libraries, and you believe the material will be an asset to the Graham Library’s collection, you are welcomed to recommend it to the library. No, unfortunately. Licensing of electronic resources are prohibited to external borrowers and users. The Graham Library provides licensed access to the American Theological Librarian Association Serials (ATLASerials). Please email ask.grahamlibrary@utoronto.ca for log in credentials. TWYCE is designed to be a go-between. While we cannot give or provide access to the resources, we can navigate the copyright licensing restrictions so you can at the very least get the item you are looking for.
