Research & Co-Curriculuar Opportunities

Trinity College and the Department of Immunology offer undergraduate students many opportunities to gain research experience, including:

  • Beyond Sciences Initiative (BSI) is a non-profit association that provides a platform for intercultural dialogue between like-minded scholars around the world. We recognize the value of bilateral mentorship, and aim to use our collaborations to promote cultural understanding, academic, and personal growth for both mentors and mentees. BSI hosts an annual International Remote Conference. BSI is based out of the Department of Immunology and Trinity College at the University of Toronto.
  • The Trinity College Undergraduate Research Conference is an interdisciplinary annual conference that gives Trinity students the opportunity to present their research in an academic setting. This is also a unique opportunity for Trinity students and faculty of the university to meet and discuss related topics of interest outside of the classroom.
  • The Ontario-Quebec Undergraduate Immunology Conference (OQUIC) is a cross-provincial, 2-day symposium of undergraduate immunology research. Students throughout Ontario and Québec are hosted at the University of Toronto and allowed to present their research findings through a competitive oral presentation. OQUIC is completely free of charge for attendees and participants from outside of Toronto may be eligible for additional awards to cover their travel and lodgings.
  • The Immunology Students’ Association (IMMSA) is a student-run organization representing all students enrolled in the Immunology Specialist and Major program, as well as those who have taken an ‘IMM’ course at the University of Toronto.
  • Study Abroad to Gain an International Perspective – the Centre for International Experience (CIE) offers students the opportunity to enhance their educational experience by studying in different academic and cultural environments.
