Research & Other Courses

We are proud of the fact that the Trinity College experience clearly plays a pivotal role in the growth of our students as learners, researchers and scholars. Students will have many opportunities to learn both inside and outside the classroom.

Trinity’s Comprehensive Paper and Independent Studies Program courses will allow you to work directly with one of our outstanding faculty mentors in research areas that are of interest to you. The Faculty of Arts & Science also offers the Research Opportunity Program (ROP), which provides students in their second and third year the opportunity to work closely with a professor (supervisor) on a research project in return for a course credit.

For experiential learning opportunities (including international experiences), students can apply for financial support, such as funding to assist with attendance at conferences, service learning and study abroad programs.

Scientific Writing for Non-Scientific Audiences uses rhetorical strategies to communicate scientific material to a non-scientific audience.

Annually in March, students can participate in the Trinity College Undergraduate Research Conference (TCURC). The interdisciplinary conference gives upper-year Trinity students the opportunity to present their research in an academic setting.

Additional resources and opportunities are available on the U of T Experiential Learning Hub.
