Doctor of Ministry

 

The Doctor of Ministry program is designed to equip students with advanced knowledge in ministry practices, as well as specialised skills in a specific area of research relevant to their ministry. This degree is supervised by the Toronto School of Theology (TST) in collaboration with Trinity College and is awarded jointly by the University of Toronto and Trinity College.

MAIN PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

  • Four years of study
  • Completion of core courses and electives
  • Development of Individual Learning Plan (ILP)
  • Writing and defence of a comprehensive paper
  • Writing a thesis with the support of experienced scholars

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • Master of Divinity (MDiv), or its equivalent, from a recognised college or university, with a B+ average or better
  • Baccalaureate degree (or its equivalent) from a recognised college or university
  • A minimum of three years of experience in the practice of ministry is required following the MDiv degree or equivalent
  • Engagement in a recognised ministry (usually full-time), which will serve as the “ministry base” during this period of advanced professional study

ENROLMENT OPTIONS

Part-time | Three core requirements offered in short, intensive summer courses.

Trinity College offers scholarships and financial support to students in need, including fellowships and bursaries. Currently, we can provide financial assistance of at least $6,000 per year for the first four years to doctoral students.
