At the Trinity College Spring 2020 Meeting of Corporation, Chancellor William C. Graham’s current third term was extended until April 30, 2022.

Trinity alumnus Andrew McFarlane, Chair of the Board of Trustees, presented the motion at Corporation on April 23, 2020, which was held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“In view of the current situation and the need for continuity, and the difficulty of completing a search, we solicited the Chairs of the constituent bodies of the Corporation – the Board of Trustees, Senate, Alumni Association Executive, Divinity Associates, and the St. Hilda’s Board of Trustees – to determine if they would support a further extension to Chancellor Graham’s term by two years. All were in unanimous agreement. Chancellor Graham has very graciously agreed to this extension,” Andrew McFarlane said at Corporation to the 180 virtual Zoom attendees. “Therefore, I would like to move that Chancellor Graham’s term be extended until April 30, 2022.”

The motion was carried unanimously by members of Corporation. “We are so pleased to have Chancellor Graham continue his leadership role at the College. His unanimous approval is a testament to his outstanding leadership and the incredible contributions he has made to the Trinity community,” said McFarlane on behalf of the Board.

“Bill Graham is an exemplary Chancellor and Canadian, and a true global citizen. He not only serves with wisdom and grace, he is extraordinarily generous in so many ways – with his time, energy and philanthropy. He has supported so many critical initiatives at Trinity, at the University and beyond – and we are eternally grateful for his commitment and support,” said Mayo Moran, Provost and Vice Chancellor of Trinity College. “He is an inspiration to so many of us, and we are so honoured to have him serve as our 12th Chancellor.”
