Citation: Trinity College’s Academic Dons and Community Advisors (CAs) of 2022-2023 are being recognized in acknowledgment of their exemplary initiative, the “Switch it, Don’t Ditch it Event,” undertaken at the conclusion of the 2022-2023 term. By encouraging responsible consumption and production, the event prompted residence students to donate and exchange items during move-out. Additionally, the initiative fostered a sense of community within our small residence. The donation of 25 bags of items addresses alleviating poverty and promoting well-being among recipients. Furthermore, the Trinity Dons and CAs collaboration with the Diabetes Foundation exemplified their commitment to forging partnerships for collective sustainable impact. In essence, their project not only minimized waste but also encapsulated a holistic approach, embodying the principles of sustainability as envisioned by the UN SDGs. Trinity Residence Dons and CAs of 2022-2023 dedication to multifaceted sustainability efforts deserves commendation and stands as an inspiring model for our community.

Recipients of the U of T Sustainability Action Awards are recognized for their tangible contributions to sustainability across the University of Toronto. The Sustainable Action Awards celebrate these contributions and aim to inspire new sustainable action both on and off-campus.

“Switch it, Don’t Ditch it”: April 12, 2024

For 2024, the “Switch it, Don’t Ditch it” clothing exchange will take place during the end-of-term Quad BBQ Social on Friday, April 12 from 12 pm to 4 pm in the Trinity Quad (rain location: Junior Common Room).
