VOLUNTEER AND GIVE BACK TO THE COLLEGE

Along with supporting students through a gift to Trinity College, there are many ways to be involved with the Trinity community. Explore some of these below or complete the Trinity Alumni Volunteer Form.

Alumni Volunteer Committees

Committees serve an important role in the life of the College. Our volunteers advise on alumni engagement, fundraising support and events.

The Alumni Association of Trinity College

The Executive of the Alumni Association of Trinity College (AATC) works with the College’s Office of Alumni Affairs to support and advise the alumni office in engaging students, alumni and friends.

Learn more about the AATC.

The Divinity Associates’ Executive

The Divinity Associates’ Executive works with the College’s Office of Alumni Affairs to support and advise the alumni office in engaging Divinity students, alumni and friends.

The Trinity College Development Committee

Our donors support the College in all we do. Donations from alumni and friends fund programming, student support, bursaries and so much more. The members of the Development Committee provide strategic advice to the Board of Trustees on the College’s fundraising initiatives. This important committee

Trinity Year Reps

Each graduating class has a group of Year Reps who act as alumni contacts with Trinity College. The administration is the brain of the College, but the alumni are its heart, and the Year Reps, in particular, are its lifeblood. They are the grads who keep in touch with their classmates and keep their classmates in touch with each other and with the College. Every five years, they organize a Class Reunion, with the help of the Office of Alumni Affairs. They also perform other duties to engender a continuing bond among members of their class.

Serve on the Board of Trustees or one of its Committees

Trinity College alumni and volunteers serve an important role in the governance of the College. Visit our College Governance page to learn more about the Board of Trustees.

Review Student Application Profiles

Every year, all applicants for admission to the University of Toronto who select Trinity College as their first preference of college are required to complete a written Profile. An applicant’s profile is weighted in the admissions selection process and in scholarship assessments. We receive approximately 4,500 profiles each year.

The assessment of Applicant Profiles is crucial in the selection of the next generation of Trinity students, and the process relies on many volunteers from the broader Trinity College community: alumni, faculty, staff, and students. The Profile allows us to learn more about these students than grades alone reveal. It also signals to applicants that this college and its graduates believe in the benefits that come from their active participation in all aspects of this university and encourages them to learn more about their college choice.

If you are interested in participating in this community event, please email Jerome Chang at jchang@trinity.utoronto.ca to be invited to this upcoming year’s admission process. Volunteer readers are normally invited in January, where you will receive more information on what is expected and if you would like to commit to be involved.

Volunteer to Help at Trinity Events

The Office of Development and Alumni Affairs hosts a number of events each year. Event volunteers are always needed to help with logistics and greet and assist our guests. It’s a great opportunity to meet other alumni and get back to campus.

Volunteer with the Annual Friends of the Library Book Sale

Volunteers are needed throughout the year, but more are required to put on the largest Book Sale on the University of Toronto campus. A variety of volunteer positions are available depending on your interests and experience.

Learn more about the book sale and how to volunteer.
