Trinity College Support for Students Affected by Sexual Violence Fund

Trinity College in partnership with the student group Trinity College Against Sexual Violence and Harassment (TASAH) recently created a $30,000 fund to help Trinity College students who have been affected by sexual violence to access counselling.

“Trinity College is committed to providing a safe, welcoming and healthy campus community. The new Sexual Violence Fund is meant to increase the availability and access to funding for students within the Trinity community,” said Ramata Tarawally, Associate Director, Community Wellness at Trinity. “Trinity students affected by sexual violence can access funding to obtain counselling services from a mental health professional of their choosing.”

“We would like to thank current and past members of TASAH for their help and leadership with this initiative,” she added.

Information about the fund, including how to access funds, can be found on the Trinity College Sexual Violence Resources webpage. This page also includes information about other sexual violence resources, services and supports.

Students interested in learning more about TASAH are encouraged to connect with them through the Trinity College Meeting (TCM).

Trinity College expects all of its community members to be respectful and kind to one another, and to adhere to the University of Toronto’s Policy on Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment (PDF).

Other Resources and Supports

The University of Toronto’s Sexual Violence Prevention and Support Centre (known as the Centre) was created to prevent and respond to sexual violence across all three campuses of the University of Toronto. The Centre manages the process for reporting sexual violence and sexual harassment and will offer support for those who disclose an incident, whether or not they choose to report it. Staffed by trained professionals, the Centre also provides training and education and will be the first point of contact for those who want accommodations. Visit their website www.svpscentre.utoronto.ca for more information or to get connected.

The University of Toronto’s Student’s Companion to the Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment Policy (PDF) is a set of frequently asked questions and the responses about the University of Toronto’s Policy on Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment (PDF). It aims to simplify and clarify Policy usage for the University’s community members.
