Why Trinity?

Being a part of Trinity College gives students the best of both worlds: a small home base and full access to all the benefits associated with Canada’s largest university – the University of Toronto. With a diverse student body and a supportive community, Trinity is definitely a place where students can get involved and feel they belong. Founded in 1851, Trinity is known for its academic excellence and is the smallest of the seven colleges in the University of Toronto. Trinity offers an exceptional academic experience and is an innovator in interdisciplinary study in areas such as international relations, immunology, and ethics, society and law. The College’s Margaret McMillan Trinity One program offers first-year students small seminar classes for shared learning in six streams. Trinity faculty members are among the University of Toronto’s most distinguished and are highly involved in student life.

The college fosters community, responsibility and leadership, and celebrates a culture of openness and diversity. Trinity attracts engaged students who benefit from its many challenging opportunities, including sports, arts, debates, choir, athletics, outreach programs, clubs, and research opportunities associated with academic programs. Trinity also offers an impressive bursary and scholarship program, excellent student services and academic support services, including Student Services Centre, health and wellness initiatives, academic resource centre, mentorship program, Academic Dons and Community Advisors. Trinity’s innovative Integrated Sustainability Initiative incorporates sustainability principles into all facets of the student experience, from academic programs and research opportunities to co-curricular programming. Opening in 2026, Trinity’s new mass timber, zero carbon, LEED platinum building – Lawson Centre for Sustainability – will add new academic, social and dining spaces for the community, and 342 new residence beds, allowing more students to live on campus and take full advantage of the collegiate experience.

Trinity is definitely a place where you will feel you belong. Come for a visit and discover our beautiful campus – it’s a special place to learn and live!
