Immunology International Summer Research Experience Program

The Immunology International Summer Research Experience Program is offered by the Department of Immunology. Students are assigned to labs/projects with host partners selected by the Department of Immunology.

We’d like to announce that we are now accepting applications for the 2024 Department of Immunology’s Summer International Research Experience.  Applications will be due no later than 9am on January 15, 2024.

The program will provide students with a travel award to participate in projects focusing on Immunology research in either Cleveland, Melbourne, Glasgow, or Trieste.

Eligibility Requirements:

These placements will take place in the Spring/Summer 2024, and students must be registered in an undergraduate program at the University of Toronto at that time and enrol in TRN307H (International Experience I).  Therefore, you will receive academic credit for this placement.  Please note, this also means if you are a 4th year student, you will need to delay your convocation until November.

The program is open for 3rd and 4th year Immunology Majors and Specialists only.

Application Requirements:

  • A completed 2024 Summer International Research Experience Application (https://forms.office.com/r/zb55ZWHqxR; you will need to login with your UTORid and UofT email address)
  • CV
  • Transcript (unofficial ACORN printout is acceptable)
  • Statement of Interest. Your statement of interest must clearly explain how participating in this program will benefit your academic studies and research career (e.g., working with internationally renowned experts, unique opportunities for fieldwork or data collection, access to facilities, or expertise not available at the University of Toronto). Your statement should be no more than 1/2 page single spaced.

Your CV/Transcript/Statement of Interest must be uploaded in PDF format (a single PDF file is highly encouraged).

You must use the following naming convention when saving your files : “documentype.pdf” (eg. “transcript.pdf” or “cv.pdf” or “statement.pdf” or “full_application.pdf” if using a single file)  Your name will be automatically added to the filename at the time of upload.
