Trinity College, a university in federation with the University of Toronto, invites nominations and applications for the position of Provost and Vice-Chancellor, which is the chief executive and academic officer of the College. The committee’s consideration of candidates will commence in late January 2024. Trinity College has partnered with the leadership advisory firm Odgers Berndtson for this recruitment.

As you know, our Provost Mayo Moran is stepping down in June 2024 after ten years of outstanding service to Trinity College. As we get the search underway for her successor, it is very important to the Search Committee that we hear the voices and views of our community members. The advice, perspective, and wisdom you provide will be enormously helpful in informing the direction of the search, and we thank you in advance for your participation. There will be some opportunities to meet with our consultants by zoom or by phone, but we also wanted to send this survey to ensure that we are reaching all members of our community. October 23, 2023: Message from Sharon Geraghty, Chair, Trinity College Board of Trustees
Professor Mayo Moran is in the last year of her second and final term as Provost and Vice-Chancellor of Trinity College. Over the past ten years, Provost Moran has served the College in an outstanding capacity, and we are thankful for her work. The College is now beginning the search for a new Provost.
In accordance with the Trinity College Statutes, a Nominating Committee has been appointed by the Trinity College Board of Trustees. Its membership is as follows:
The Nominating Committee will begin its work immediately and will retain an external search consultant to support the selection process. Following community consultations, the Committee will finalize the position profile, interview candidates, and recommend a suitable candidate to the Board of Trustees. Once approved by the Board of Trustees, the Board will propose that candidate to the Corporation for appointment. More details concerning the process will be communicated once the Committee has met.

Professor Mayo Moran is in the last year of her second and final term as Provost and Vice-Chancellor of Trinity College and the College is now beginning the search for a new Provost. Under the Statutes of Trinity College, a nominating committee is appointed by the Board of Trustees. Preliminary work on this is underway and we will be reaching out with regard to the composition of that committee.
